FAQ's

HOW DO I BOOK?

By the time you get to the enquiry stage and you have contacted me about availabilty for your wedding date, I can imagine you have looked at various hair and make-up artists, and feel confident that my style and my pricing is similar to your style and your budget. Or you will be enquiring to find out more information. Once we establish availability and the details of your wedding and both of us are keen to get you booked in, I will then email you an invoice for a non-refundable £50 deposit. This payment comes off the cost of the trial, so if you do not like what I have done, you haven't lost out on any money. Once this is paid I will send you an email confirming receipt of payment and that you are booked and I am officially your hair and make-up supplier.

WHEN WILL I HAVE MY TRIAL?

I recommend doing the trial around 8-10 weeks before the wedding. This means that your hair colour and length will be as close to what it will be on the day, giving you a better idea of how it will actually look. If you would feel more comfortable having one sooner, just to make sure that you are happy with my craft then that is absolutely no problem, we can get you booked in earlier. Although in my experience, brides who have done this always end up booking a second trial closer to the time as they will have spent all that time in between looking at inspiration photos and almost always change their mind. Also, the way I do things is very consultative and I will not leave unless we are both happy and know what I will be doing on the wedding day for you.

PAYMENTS

The £50 deposit is to be paid by bank transfer when you want to book in and hold the date.

The deposit will come off the cost of the trial, so you will have a remaining amount that I will let you know of beforehand and this can be paid for on the day of the trial, by card machine or bank transfer which ever is easiest for you.

The final costs of the wedding day will be sent to you before and must be paid in full by no later than one week before the wedding day. This can be paid by card, which I will send you a link for to make the card payment, or it can be paid by bank transfer. I accept most major debit and credit cards but please check with me before hand if you are unsure.

CAN MY BRIDESMAIDS & MUM HAVE A TRIAL?

Yes, anyone in your bridal party can have a trial, although it is not compulsory.

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR THE TRIAL?

Please wash your hair as normal, I would prefer if your hair is a day old and not greasy as it will be easier to manage and create your desired style. Then after the trial I will know what your hair is like and will give your more detailed instructions for the wedding day. For example, do not use conditioner, wash the morning of, or anything that I feel would benefit. If you could have plug sockets handy for my equipment (which are all PAT tested) when doing hair, and also a mirror to put in front of you if possible.

For the make-up trial, please do not have any make-up on. I do not recommend doing facemasks before the trial or the wedding as these will throw off the balance of your skin and may make the make-up not sit too well on your face.

WHAT DO I BRING TO THE TRIAL? I.E HAIR EXTENSIONS, VEILS, ACCESSORIES

If you have a veil or a chosen hair accessory then please do bring it to the trial. If you have not chosen these things yet, especially any hair accessories then please do not worry, you may not know what will suit your chosen hairstyle until we try it, and there will be plenty of time to order something. The trial will give you a better idea of what to put in your hair and I will be able to give you advice on these and what to get if you require them.

Hair extensions are a very normal part of the wedding day for brides and bridal party. I am completely qualified to install temporary hair extensions or clip-ins and have lots of experience. If you wish to discuss this beforehand then just contact me.

WILL WE NEED MORE THAN ONE HAIR & MAKE-UP PERSON?

Depending on the ceremony time, how early we start, and how many people require hair and/or make-up. Sometimes I have enough time to accommodate everyone, and sometimes I need extra help. I have a select few hair and make-up artists that I can get to help me on the day of the wedding. Once we know how many people want a service then I can get help. If I am unable to get someone to help me then I will let you know with plenty of notice for you to find someone to assist.

Questions will always come up before your wedding day, so if I have not covered any questions that you may have on this page then you are always welcome to contact me and I will be happy to answer them. When you book me as your official supplier I will always be here to answer any questions or just discuss ideas.
